Coated colored glass “Irodori” is colored glass with paints baked onto the back side of transparent glass. It has luster, durability, and vivid colors. In addition to the 12 existing colors, we can also produce coated colored glass in original colors.

“jumpaku” and ‘Zoge’ are made of high transparency glass

When the back surface of ordinary glass is painted, the color appears somewhat different from the painted color because it contains a bluish tint peculiar to glass.

The popular KCO-001 “jumpaku” and KCO-003 “Zoge” are painted on high transparency glass, so the original color of the paint can be produced.

Gray is recommended for mirror adhesive, mirror mat and substrate color

We recommend gray or dark gray for the color of the adhesive, mirror mat and substrate for installing the glass.

Depending on the color of the substrate and the color of the adhesive, it may show through the glass. In particular, avoid white substrates, as they may reflect the shadow of the mirror mat and adhesive.

The lighting environment will also have an effect, such as light turning to the backside. If possible, it is recommended to check the combination of substrate material color, adhesive color, and colored glass in advance.

Four thicknesses to choose from

The greatest feature of coated colored glass “Irodori” is that it is available in multiple thicknesses.

Conventional colored glass is mostly 4mm or 5mm thick, but “Irodori” can be produced in a wide variety of thicknesses such as 3mm, 5mm, 6mm, and 8mm.

It is widely used for table tops and store shelves, where strength and safety are required.

About Processing

Cutting surface processing can be selected according to the application.

Cross-sectional processing can be specified from three types: thread chamfer, arazuri, and migaki .

Thread chamfering is a light chamfering using a grinder or the like so that the hand will not be cut.

If you want to show the cross section of table tops or shelves, or if you want to reduce the risk of injury from glass as much as possible, we recommend arazuri and Migaki.

Glass can be “tempered” to 3-4 times its normal strength.

It is also possible to strengthen coated colored glass “Irodori”.

By strengthening the glass, it becomes 3.5 to 4 times stronger than regular coated colored glass “Irodori”.

Tempered glass is popular for table tops and for use in places where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic, such as stores, because it is safer.
