Flat polycarbonate is one of the strongest transparent plastic products and is a popular material widely used for precision equipment parts, peepholes on factory machinery and roofing materials.

Because it is made from resin, it is also lighter than glass, making it easy for DIYers to use.

Points to consider when using for Windows

Polycarbonate can bend under load. To prevent it from coming off the sash, order the inside dimension of the sash plus 12 mm.

When screwing, the location should be at least 2.5 times the hole diameter from the edge of the polycarbonate. If waterproofing is required, use a heavy-duty silicone caulk and be careful not to overtighten the screws.

Also, when bending polycarbonate sheets for your own use, please confirm the size of the sheet to allow for bending.

*Polycarbonate is susceptible to chemicals such as oil, organic solvents, and pesticides, which can cause cracking, discoloration, and splitting. For gaskets and packing materials, avoid soft polyvinyl chloride, which can cause cracking, and use polyethylene or silicone materials.
